DIMENSION OF QUALITY & PRIORITIZATION

Maxwell (Maxwell, 1984) has proposed 6 dimensions of quality which need to be considered in assessing any health service which are ;

1)      Access to service

2)      Relevance to need

3)      Effectiveness

4)      Equity

5)      Social acceptability

6)      Efficiency and economy

The quality in the provision of health care is a multi-dimensional concept and it may not be possible to maximize all facets.

Planning is important to avoid carelessness, accident or hurt the patient.

 

HEALTH CARE REQUIREMENTS – A FRAMEWORK FOR PROGRESS IN PRIORITY SETTING?

Health care requirements need framework to overcome problems and to ensure the quality of work. Also, framework aims to combine principles of equity with those of efficiency and public participation. Framework is for the measuring of the quality of their provision across range of dimensions. Quality gives impact on the development of appropriate quality measurements for physiotherapy.
